Is a BioStimulator Right for You?
Want to treat fine lines and wrinkles?
Looking for long-lasting, natural-looking results?
Hoping to restore your skin’s glow and firmness without looking “overdone”?
What Are BioStimulators?
BioStimulators are advanced injectable treatments designed to stimulate your body’s natural collagen production. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that simply add volume, BioStimulators work gradually beneath the surface to restore skin structure, improve elasticity, and create long-term rejuvenation.
At our Swedesboro, NJ practice, we offer leading BioStimulator treatments including Sculptra® and Radiesse®.
Sculptra® contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) microparticles that stimulate collagen production deep within the skin, gradually improving firmness and smoothing lines.
Radiesse® is formulated with calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres, providing immediate volume correction while also stimulating long-term collagen production.
Both treatments are ideal for patients who want natural-looking improvement that develops gradually and lasts.
What Areas Can BioStimulators Treat?
BioStimulators are commonly used to improve:
- Smile lines (nasolabial folds)
- Marionette lines
- Cheeks and midface volume loss
- Jawline definition
- Temples
- Chin
- Skin laxity and crepey texture
Radiesse can also be used to rejuvenate aging hands.
During your consultation, your provider will customize a treatment plan based on your facial structure, skin quality, and aesthetic goals.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Treatment plans vary depending on your goals and the product selected.
Sculptra® is typically performed in a series of 2–3 sessions spaced about 3–4 weeks apart
Radiesse® often provides visible improvement after one treatment, though some patients benefit from additional sessions
Your provider will determine the appropriate number of treatments for optimal collagen stimulation and long-lasting results.
When Will I See Results?
BioStimulators work differently than traditional fillers.
- Radiesse® provides some immediate volume, with continued improvement over the following months as collagen production increases.
- Sculptra® results develop gradually. Most patients begin noticing visible improvement within 4–6 weeks, with continued enhancement over several months.
Results can last up to two years or longer, depending on the product used and your body’s collagen response.
Biostimulator Pre-Care Instructions
To prepare for your treatment:
- Avoid alcohol for 24–48 hours prior
- Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements if medically appropriate (consult your provider)
- Avoid scheduling dental work 2 weeks before or after treatment
- Notify your provider if you have any active infections or inflammation
Your medical provider will review your medical history and determine candidacy prior to treatment.
Biostimulator Aftercare Instructions

For optimal results:
- Massage the treated area 5 times a day for 5 minutes for 5 days (unless otherwise directed)
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
- Avoid excessive heat, saunas, and sun exposure for 48 hours
- Do not apply pressure to treated areas
- Avoid additional facial treatments until cleared by your provider
